Goddamn that´s a lousy song.
Ok, It´s obviously Stanley a.k.a. Hope, but a lot younger version. That´s the way he looked as a teenaged drug user. His coat is HUGE because it´s his father´s. Stanley was a bit problematic in this age and ran away from home after he got frustrated with his parents (wich is odd because they were such lovely people). The last thing he did before slamming the family house door was to snatch his dad´s coat. It was completely random, but later made he feel better for having it as a memory.
To earn his living (money for drugs) he did all kinds of work, like selling stolen stuff, fruits on a market, and himself. One rainy day he looked for a shelter from old building that´s doors were open for public. It just happened to be the place were the members of the New Church gathered, and before Stan had time to say "shitfuck", Commander Isaac had talked him over for his little groub. (They just happened to need new recruits.) Commander makes every listener believe in what he says, by just making them go all confused with his appearance and moodswings.

Now, that was a bit of text there. So sorry about that.
